A place to reflect

As we spend time reflecting on the text each day we want to ask two fundamental questions:  ”Who or what is being revealed in the passage?” and “What difference does or should that make in our life?”

May these questions challenge us to look closely at the text, inspire us to see the larger story, and prepare us to apply the calling of Jesus in our daily lives!

As we said in the introduction, Lent is a season practiced together in community.  Your responses, insights, and reflections are welcomed in the comment boxes below.

Lord,
may everything we do
begin with your inspiration,
continue with your help,
and reach perfection under your guidance.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Lent is a time for reflection…renewal…new life

For many Christians, Lent has become a season of private experience, a pursuit of holiness as we prepare for Good Friday and Easter. But it is also a season where the community of faith interacts and gathers together around the Word, around the Maundy Thursday communion table, and at the foot of Calvary. During Lent 2010, we are challenging ourselves to rearrange/adjust our schedules and add 15 minutes devoted to the Word and devotions, focused on reading the Gospel of Mark and reflecting on what we find there. Come back to this site each weekday beginning Monday, February 22, for daily readings.
