We hope you will use the list as a starting point in your search for services. Charities, Volunteer/Service Opportunities for Youth and Adults

Feed My Starving Children (847) 984-3846

FMSC strives to eliminate starvation among children throughout the world. Volunteers hand-pack rice, soy, dried vegetables, and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags, which they are sealed, boxed, placed on pallets, and shipped to their partners working around the world to reach the neediest children.

Love INC of Lake County mobilizes local churches to transform lives and communities “In the Name of Christ.” An affiliate of Love INC National, the local network of volunteers from Lake County churches help disadvantaged individuals rebuild their lives and create new relationships, all In the Name of Christ. Ministries include the Clearinghouse Help Center, Clothing and Furniture Ministries, Household Starter Kits, Baby Shower Ministry, New Hope Ministry, and Loved Twice Thrift Boutique.

Northern Illinois Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, is the source of nutritious food, innovative feeding programs, and hope for more than half a million people each year. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a goal of solving hunger in the 13-county service area, the organization relies on generous donors, volunteers, and community partners: the local food pantries and feeding programs, food manufacturers and retailers, companies, foundations, and individuals who join in their vision for no one to be hungry in Northern Illinois.

Start your Recovery Our new Illinois region page is a resource for individuals who may be struggling with substance use disorder. Start Your Recovery was developed by bringing together experts in substance misuse treatment from leading nonprofit, academic, and government institutions. Through this resource, members of your congregation can hear stories from people with similar experiences, discover the answers they need for recognizing and dealing with substance misuse, and locate support. Offers professional counseling services that provide hope, healing, and growth in a manner that is ethical and caring.

Provides caring, confidential, personalized counseling in a private office environment. The experienced staff of licensed psychotherapists works with children, teens, adults of all ages, couples, and families. Counseling is available in Spanish and English.

A Christian counseling ministry devoted to serving local churches in the northern and western regions of Chicagoland, White Stone Resources offers individual, marital, and family Christian counseling. In addition, it provides topically focused teaching, seminars, and organizational/staff consulting to churches.
