COVID Plan of Action: CALM

Our effort to continue to minister during the COVID pandemic is captured in our CALM Plan.  You can click the CALM logo above to read the plan.  CALM seeks to be faithful, cautious, disciplined, and loving to our whole community while ensuring that LCC ministry remains vibrant and fully accessible. Additions and Updates to our CALM plan, Nov. 18
Our CALM plan so far has focused on the prevention of COVID cases at LCC as it should.  Our Leadership Team has been working out the next step in our CALM plan which focuses on reporting and responding to positive COVID diagnoses within our congregation (click LCC-C19response for full document).  Our Church Chair Paul Hawkinson has put together a 5-minute video explaining this new aspect of our CALM plan:

COVID-19 Update: Nov. 18

Return to Virtual Worship
Our priority is always the glory of God and the good of our people.  Our relationships are the key to our ministry, and we want to be a people who love well.  For that reason, with the new Tier 3 Mitigations in place for Lake County, we are moving our worship to Virtual Only once again.  This means that those involved with leading the service will be asked to continue to participate at their own comfort level, but no observers will be allowed in worship.  This should allow us to keep our numbers very close to 10 on Sunday morning. We encourage everyone to join us on our YouTube channel every Sunday at 10:30 am for live worship because watching simultaneously rather than later in the day/week helps us maintain some semblance of community in our worship as we share in the chat bar and hear current prayer requests from one another.

Spring Small Group – “Immerse” 

We will kick off our Immerse reading, February, 1st through May 22nd (16 weeks) we will commit to reading the entire first five books of the Bible-Genesis through Deuteronomy together. There are 5 days (Monday-Friday) of readings (about 5-8 pages or 10-20 minutes a day of reading time) to be completed at your pace.

5-11 people or a family could meet weekly to discuss what was read. These meetings are less like a Bible study but more like a “book club.”

Three formats of Immerse:

  1. Hard copy: A family guide is available here to use at home for parents, grandparents, or guardians to use with younger children. Click here for a sixteen-week reading plan.

How Can I Participate In A Group?

  1. Join an existing group
  2. Form Your Own “Immerse” Group | If you presently do not belong to any group feel free to start your own group! Gather a group of about five-seven people—friends, neighbors, acquaintances, or colleagues. You can meet at your home, at a coffee shop, over lunch, whenever works for you. You don’t need to know everything to host a group; Immerse has a host guide here
