Libertyville Covenant Church has been invited to participate in a “Sticky Faith” learning cohort.  “Sticky Faith” is a research based initiative out of Fuller seminary that is designed to address the nation wide exodus of young adults from the church and their faith.  Our young people today are wrestling with the place of faith and the church in their lives as they engage a increasingly secular culture.  The heart of this movement is to help churches thinking more intergenerationally and develop church wide strategies for the faith development of your young people.   The following is a short summary of “Sticky Faith” and the essential elements of this movement!

Check out our Central Conference Camp’s newsletter.  In particular check out the new leadership development tool in our conference, “AIL”.  This important ministry included two of our students, Mirielle Nauman and Tim Becker last summer!  We are blessed to have two great camps in our conference!

We are excited to introduce our new youth ministry website.  In partnership with Paul Burger (pastoral intern at Harbert Community Church) we have designed a simple site that allows us to communicate effectively with parents and students as well as the larger congregation and Internet community.  We have focused our attention on sharing articles and videos that are relevant to parents and students.  We also have a place to view photo’s, check out the calendar and even download forms.  All of the content on this site can be driven to people’s phones through facebook and twitter.  We hope this can be a valuable tool in our communication and resourcing  of parents and students as well as engagement with the larger church!  Check us out and watch a video or  read an article!

It is time to pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Between now and November 10th we will be collecting school supplies, small toys & games, and toiletry items. On Saturday, November 17th, the young families will have a “night of service” when we will pack shoe boxes full of fun Christmas surprises which will then be sent to needy children around the world. For many of the children who receive these boxes it will be their very first Christmas present! Read more
