On Wednesday, November 16th, we have a special ADVENTure Night planned as we prepare for Advent together. All are invited to join us at 5:30 p.m. for a Waffle and Smoothy Bar in the Fellowship Hall. Following dinner we will have a time of music and a Christmas Story and then will get busy packing operation Christmas Child boxes and making a craft to go along with an advent devotional book “Searching for the Christmas Lamb” ($11/book) to be used with your family during the season. In the month of November, we take time to focus our attention on all that God has given us. It’s a season of gratitude and our daily prayers and weekly worship reflect that. But as we think of all we have, we can’t help but recognize that there are billions around the world who have less. So, as a month-long act of worship, we present the Gratitude and Giving Calendar! Each day, there is a gift that God has given us (blankets, clean water, education…) and a way to give money to those who live without it through Covenant World Relief. Please print the weeks calendar and then as a family or on your own use it as a prompt for both prayer and giving. At our Thanksgiving Eve service, we will bring our banks/boxes/envelopes forward in worship. If you have questions, let us know!
Kids have lots of questions about the sacraments, and so do grown ups! What does baptism do? When should we start taking communion? Should we dedicate our infants or baptize them? These questions and many more will be discussed this Sunday, Oct. 23 from 2-4pm at LCC at our Sacraments Workshop. Led by Pastor Steve and Bobby, this workshop is for kids and their parents, but is open to anyone in the church! We look forward to seeing you all there.

July 27 is Olympics Night
Next month, the Summer Olympics begin, but we just can’t wait that long. So this Wednesday night at 5:30pm we will gather on the Hill at LCC for dinner and the first annual LCC Olympic Games. To participate, all you need to bring is a side dish to pass (we supply the main dish) and your Olympic spirit. Our teams will participate in such events as the Decathalon, the Long Jump, the 20m Hurdles, the Javelin throw, Polo, and many more, but as usual, the games will not be what they seem.
This is our last Wednesday Fun Night of the summer, so gather your friends and families and come on out for an evening of food, games, and fun. See you there!
