Garden PhotoWe have beautiful new trellises to support our tomatoes, peas and beans! A spigot has been installed at the northeast corner of the garden, so now watering can get done in 10-15 minutes! Let’s make watering and tending the garden as fun as possible. What if pairs and trios of people would commit to watering once a week for a month, and afterward could go someplace to enjoy conversation over coffee or ice cream? I would commit some time weekly for that! Wouldn’t you?

Here’s the link for the sign-up schedule for watering:  Garden Schedule

While you are watering the vegetables, you can check on which ones need to be picked. There will be a picking guide for our various vegetables to make it easier to know when something is ready and should be picked. Picking vegetables early and often keeps the plant setting new blossoms and avoids our growing zucchini to baseball bat size or woody green beans as fat as a finger. Our food pantry day is Tuesday. The best picking days, then, would be Friday, Saturday, and Monday. We’ll have space in the refrigerator for picked veggies and bags and containers in which to store them.

Garden helpers are having trouble finding the watering schedule because so many items have pushed it down to the bottom. Help!

Attended your service yesterday & am wondering if you could use a 79 year old man, who was baptized Easter Sunday, dedicated/baptized 1-1-36. My aim in life is to SERVE OTHERS!

Roger, we would be very happy to have your service in the garden! I’m out of town, returning tomorrow night. I will soon post the new garden layout for 2014. We will have 12 boxes this year, up from 8 last year. The garden will supply international student families at Trinity International University with fresh produce. Many of those families are just getting by. I look forward to meeting you!
